Something About Seshmi
About Sesh
Eager to kick-start her career in television, Seshmi landed her first job at WCTV Eyewitness news in Tallahassee in 2004. There she balanced the beginning of her career while still a full-time student at Florida State University.
Getting herself rooted in news as a Producer first, she rapidly worked her way on air there creating and hosting two weekly entertainment segments keeping viewers up to date on the happenings in Hollywood.
In 2006 Seshmi became a General Assignment Reporter at WCTV, and at the end of 2007 Seshmi joined Orlando’s Central Florida News 13 as an Entertainment Reporter.
Now-a-days she has traded in reporting crime and politics for premieres, celebrities, nightlife and fashion. She’s covered everything from the city’s bustling arts and entertainment scene, nightlife and fashion – to many memorable events like the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals, the arrival of Disney’s first black princess and the death of Michael Jackson.
Since 2007 Seshmi has interviewed literally dozens of celebrities including Jada Pinkett-Smith, Kyra Sedgwick, Jeff Goldblum, and Taraji P. Henson. TV stars Megan Mullaly, Vanna White, Rainn Wilson, Jay Leno, and yes, even Jerry Springer. Legendary Director John Landis. A long list of reality TV stars like Bethenny Frankel and Tim Gunn, Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard, numerous singers and Broadway stars…and the list goes on and on.
Always raising the bar, Seshmi aims to make each interview more entertaining than the last.
She’s a proud “Seminole-Rattler” as she calls it, with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Florida State University and a minor in Journalism from Florida A&M University. Seshmi is now based in Los Angeles, California, and is the Vice President of Broadcast for the Black Journalists Association of Southern California, member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
