SESHMI'S FULL RESUME

Seshmi is a unique talent, that’s highly skilled in three areas of television production: TV Host, Executive Producer and Content Creator.

Having worked in both broadcast and cable television for nearly a decade, Seshmi has learned and executed valuable skills in small and top-20 markets, and in 2013 landed a regular hosting (which led to executive producing duties) at a national cable television network, based in the Los Angeles area.

Seshmi is a journalist and host who is experienced in all areas of story telling. From the creation of ideas, to shooting and editing her own videos, and fronting them on-air, Seshmi has truly been an asset to the organizations she works with.

Seshmi landed her first job at WCTV Eyewitness news in Tallahassee in 2004.  There she balanced the beginning of her career while still a full-time student at Florida State University.

Getting herself rooted in news as a Producer first, Seshmi was hired as an Associate Producer for the weekend evening newscasts and quickly learned the in’s and out’s of television news.  

Several months later, believing she could get the job done, the News Director offered Seshmi a Producer role, and asked her to create and launch the stations new 5:30am newscast.  After successfully getting the show on the air and producing a great newscast each morning, she was then asked to do the same for the stations new evening newscast, on the then, newly created, MyNetworkTV.

Always desiring to tell stories in front of the camera, Seshmi worked her way on air there, creating and hosting two weekly entertainment segments keeping viewers up to date on the happenings in Hollywood.  One of which remains a part of the stations morning show, to this day. 

In 2006 Seshmi was on the air full-time, as a General Assignment Reporter at WCTV, reporting hard news; and at the end of 2007 Seshmi joined Orlando’s Central Florida News 13 as an Entertainment Reporter and Producer.

There she traded in reporting crime and politics for premieres, celebrities, nightlife and fashion. She’s covered everything from the city’s bustling arts and entertainment scene – to many memorable events like the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals, the arrival of Disney’s first black princess, Orlando’s bustling theme parks, and the death of Michael Jackson.  

Since 2007 Seshmi has interviewed literally dozens of celebrities including Jada Pinkett-Smith, Kyra Sedgwick, Jeff Goldblum, and Taraji P. Henson.  TV stars Megan Mullaly, Vanna White, Rainn Wilson, Jay Leno, and yes, even Jerry Springer. Legendary Director John Landis.  A long list of reality TV stars like Bethenny Frankel and Tim Gunn, Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard, numerous singers and Broadway stars…and the list goes on.

At News 13 Seshmi’s producing skills grew even more, producing both short and long-form content for the station and it’s 24-hour On Demand channel, in addition to producing multiple special projects for the network when asked.

In 2013, after re-locating to Los Angeles a couple years prior, Seshmi began hosting a weekly talk show at JUCE TV Network, an international faith-based entertainment network.  Seshmi was seen each week hosting the network’s flagship show, called Top3.  Seshmi was a regular fill-in anchor for the network’s weekly news show, as well as hosted JUCE TV specials, music video countdown shows, and more. 

An integral part of the JUCE TV team, Seshmi was Executive Producer for both the network’s talk and news programs, in addition to overseeing logistics and producing details for several other JUCE TV produced shows.

Seshmi is a proud “Seminole-Rattler” as she calls it, with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Florida State University and a minor in Journalism from Florida A&M University.  While in Los Angeles Seshmi was the Vice President of Broadcast for the Black Journalists Association of Southern California,  and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

NY In spring of 2015, Seshmi relocated from the city of dreams, to the concrete jungle, and now resides in New York City, ready to take on the next journey of career and passion for story telling!
